I have Windows Office that is compatible with the Macbook. I have to write an APA-style paper, with the "Running head" title on the first page, and the shortened title (in the header) for the remainder of the pages. How do I do that? This paper is due on Tuesday, so I need someone's help asap! Thanks!|||You're not likely to get a one hour lesson on using Word here. Click on Help > Word Help. Type "headers" in the search and read about seven of the articles that offer help with this detailed design. That will explain it fully.
"Create a different header or footer for part of a document
When you create a header or footer, Word automatically uses the same header or footer throughout the entire document. To create a different header or footer for part of a document, divide the document into sections, and then break the connection between the header or footer in the current section and the previous one.
1. If you haven't done so already, insert a section break that creates a new page where you want the different header or footer.
2. Click in the section for which you want to create a different header or footer.
3. On the View menu, click Header and Footer.
4. If necessary, move to the header or footer you want to change.
5. On the Header and Footer toolbar, click Same as Previous to break the connection between this section and the previous section.
6. Change the existing header or footer, or create a new one for this section.
Word automatically makes the same changes to the headers or footers for all subsequent sections7. To create a different header or footer for another section, repeat steps 1 through 6.

By the way, OpenOffice is not OS X native, so it doesn't have kerned gliphs and native highlighting. You should try NeoOffice if you get tired of MS Word.|||Thanks so much. This was very helpful to me.

|||Get OpenOffice, it's a LOT better than M$ Office. For Mac OS X get OpenOffice Aqua.
(OpenOffice can read / write M$ Office format.)
