I use works and not windows office how do i open this file|||Get openoffice for free. Works great with office files.|||Or the Excel Viewer if you don't need to edit it.|||I would suggest OpenOffice if it didn't have so many compatibility issues and isn't so dang crappy.

Try the free Office viewer. It'll let you do basic functions such as print and save.|||You Can Use ByteScout XLS Viewer..
Its Free And Very Small Application.. And Works Like A Charm.. :)

Just download the free XL Viewer from Microsoft at the link below.
Hope this helps,
Al|||If you have Works, then you should be able to open xls files as they are both Microsoft products. Open your Works spreadsheet, click on open icon, navigate to the path where the Excel file is. Don't panic as you won't be able to see it yet, but click on the downward arrow to side of file type row, and select all files. You should then see it, double click to bring it in and then save as a Works file.

Alternatively, you can always ask the person who created it to save it in csv format which is generic form for spreadsheets, in the same way as .txt or .rtf is for word processing packages meaning that you will be able to open csv in any spreadsheet application.
