windows office: i start school in a few weeks and im going out to buy a lap top tomorrow... i know i need to buy Windows Office but a friend told me about a program called Open Office... has anyone used this program for school work? come across any problems? because if it works im going to buy a printer instead of spending 100 bucks on Office.|||Yeah I did all through college. Zero problems. It can open AND save the Microsoft Office file formats. I do however recommend Libre Office instead of Open Office. It's a fork of Open Office, basically the smart people from Libre Office branched off and did their own thing, it's a bit better.|||Go for OpenOffice. It has most of the Office-like features you will ever use in school. Besides, it's free.
