I don't own a Mac, but I am curious. Do Macs come with their own word processor, or office-type software, or is a Windows Office version naturally installed on them already (like with PCs)?

Secondly, do Macs use their own file extensions? And if so, if I was to save a file, let's say a Word Doc (if applicable), would the extensions be the same as on a PC, or different?

=D Thanks Mac Savvy Users|||If you get a Mac (god forbid) you can purchase windows office for mac. Windows office is not pre installed unless special ordered. If you save a doc. as a Word doc. it will always and forever be a word doc. until changed.|||Mac's do have their own word processing software, but you could also buy Microsoft Office for the Mac. It saves it in the traditional ".doc" format.|||Mac's do not have their own office. OpenOffice.org is a good alternative to MS Office. All MS Office and OpenOffice save their wordprocessing documents with the doc or docx extension and can be openned by either office program, and MacOffice
