Its one of those rebuilt 'Frankenstein' computers. its got all the programing to run properly, but no MS Office (Word, Excell, Powerpoint, etc.). As a student, its murder to my schoolwork to not have these programs, but i don't have any spare cash to buy the new Windows 7 stuff, or a friend with the disks. How can i get them on my computer, aren't they basic?|||openoffice.org|||There is no free Microsoft Office readily available. New computers might come with Microsoft Works, but that's pretty worthless these days. Otherwise you have to purchase the software.

If you want a free version of Microsoft Office 2010 (beta) you can go to the Microsoft Site and download it for free. It will remain free through October 2010, then it won't work and you will have to buy the full version. So it's free for awhile.

The other option is OpenOffice.com, which is free office software download.|||No they are not basic and they are not part of windows they are separate (very expensive) applications. You have three options:
1) you can use a free, legal, alternative like open office which you can get here:
http://www.openoffice.org/
2) you can download and use MS Office 2010 beta (trial) version for free until October from:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/2010/en/鈥?/a>
3) as a student you may be eligible for special offers on current MS Office versions; in the UK you can get it from here:

AJ|||They are not available free. Student editions are cheaper than the regular editions, and they can usually be found in a college bookstore, or sometimes at places like Best Buy.
If you have absolutely no money, try the free Open Office. It is compatible with MS file formats.

It can read and write any of the Microsoft formats and it is free. It is sponsored by Sun. If you're really feeling hardcore, you can always try typesetting your documents in LaTeX. The output is much nicer than Word documents and it's the standard in Mathematical papers.

You can download a free trial from microsoft.com and then buy the full version, or use a free alternative like Open Office.|||If I am correct there some GOOD open source projects out there.
Look for Open Office or something like that,it should serve.

PD:sry for if I have misspelled something,im from Argentina|||http://us1.office2010beta.microsoft.com/default.aspx?culture=en-US
