(Please no computer jargon answers,as i don't understand it - sorry)
I'm doing an invoice on my Windows Office Excel, how i populate text from a cell into the same cell on another tab?
(It populates numbers, just not text)
Thanks in advance.|||Hi. There is a very simple method I use for doing that, and it works on both text and numbers.
Example:
In cell A15 on your sheet 1 tab you have a name, which you'd like to appear in cell A15 on your sheet 2 tab.
1. Click on your sheet 2 tab
2. Click cell A15
3. Type an = sign in the cell
4. Click on sheet 1 tab
5. Click cell A15 (it is now highlighted)
6. Press Enter
Now whatever you do to cell A15 on sheet 1, it will change A15 on sheet 2. You can test it by changing the text of A15 on sheet 1, or making it a number. Whatever you place in A15 on sheet 1 will show up on sheet 2.
Now, if you had numerous cells you need to do this with, just copy the A15 cell on sheet 2 and paste it into the other cells you need also on sheet 2.
Hope this helped :)
P.S. I use Excel 2000 and there is a template for an invoice on it. You can check your version to see if one already exists, if that would help you out. In your Excel, click on File, go to New, mine shows up in the Spreadsheet Solutions tab, Invoice.
If you need any other help, please feel free to email me.|||Say the text is in cell A6 on sheet1 and you want it on sheet2, go to cell A6 on sheet 2, type the = sign, click on sheet 1 tab, double click on cell A6 and enter and the external formula showing the contents of sheet 1 is there.
If there is more than one cell you want, you can group both worksheets by clicking on the first sheet, holding the shift key down and click on sheet 2. They are now linked. Highlight the data on sheet 1, right button copy, then up to edit, fill across worksheets and all data on sheet1 that you have highlighted also appear on the next worksheet.
This is invaluable when setting up multiworksheets so you have common headings and formulae. Don't forget to ungroup the sheets afterwards though by right clicking on one of the sheets and clicking ungroup.
After an update, my computer deemed my product key for my old windows 2007 office invalid. After explaining to my friend, he came over and installed a new windows office 2007 to my computer and the only difference I saw was that his was an enterprise. I asked him about it and he said he got it from a guy he new that worked with Fedex and that it was like a business version that could be installed into computers multiple times (he didn't even put in a product key).
Can anyone explain how his version was able to do this (bypass product key and install on multiple computers?) I did some search on enterprise and I still find that it is limited to a certain amount of installations, so how come his isn't limited. Or am I not fully understanding the enterprise version|||It's not *hacked*, your friend has an OPEN or CORPORATE LICENCE.
This is for large organisations who just buys one product key and copy for the software but can install it on multiple machines without activating it. They just have to make sure they buy the correct amount of licences it has installed on computers. For example, they would by 100 licences and install it on 100 machines. They could also install it on 200 machines if they wanted to and the product won't expire. However, Open or Corporate Licences are generally AUDITED randomly by a company contracted by Microsoft. So they do check up on the licences ever so often.
The idea behind OPEN/CORPORATE licences is that IT Staff can do massive roll outs of Office on company computers withint having to go and activate every single copy! Ie: Installing it on 200 computers and having to activate it all 200 machines would be a nightmare!
The software DOES REQUIRE a product key, but their IT staff would have packaged the product key INTO the install file so to make installation quicker. Hence why it looks like he's bypassing the product key - cause it's already 'wrapped' into the installation.
Your friend is therefore essentially 'stealing' his company's copy of Office. There may be a chance that later down the track, if this copy keeps on 'spreading', Microsoft will detect that there are 1000 copies of this product and it's key being used from multiple locations when Fedex only has 100 licences and will blacklist the product key (through Windows and Geniune Updates). This is what could potentially happen.
Hope that helps answer your question.|||His copy was hacked so it wouldn't ask for a key, happens all of the time. Illegal though.
I got the best anti-virus software i could find and it still didn't help. I was wondering if there is a way to completely erase the hard drive, without deleting the OS or Windows Office
All help is appreciated|||no need , it just needs cleaned up by someone who knows what they are doing almost never a need to reformat a pc . I read al these answers and questions here and i shake my head in disbelief . i have 11 PC 3 laptops , a server in my home / office none of them has ever been reformatted since installing the OS , never a virus , they are used and on damn near 24 - 7 run fast and
like new a little common sense and up keep goes a long way|||No dude, you can't erase or rather re-format your hard-disk without wiping your Windows OS as well.
If you have not already done so, you may wanna try the 30-day free trial Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware 2008. It's abit out-dated I know. But hey, I downloaded it and helped me to get rid of some unknown viruses and trojans. It's just a small file of 65MB, which you may like to download from the link below :-
http://www.download.com/Trend-Micro-AntiVirus-plus-AntiSpyware/3000-2239_4-10440657.html
Hope it helps. Cheers !|||OK... for a last chance.. Install AVG Internet security or any ..update it... install Spy ware Doctor and scan you computer... fix all the problems..Un-install it . and at last install Spy bot search & destroy
from
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/ownmirrors1/index.html
and scan you computer...fix all the problems......I think you problem is not viruses but spy wares....
Hope you'll able to fix all problems.. best of luck|||Back up what you want by taking out your hard drive and poping it into another computer or external hard drive caseing. Once you have done that. wipe your hard drive clean. If you use Linux or OSx 10.5 for intel you will have a more useful computer and you will never have to worry about virus's again. The bottom line is that any thing to do with Microsoft is bad news. MS Windows is s**t|||That wouldn't be possible, considering the viruses are embedded in Windows.
What is it consider as the "best antivirus software"?
Although I use only free software, I find the best combination for viruses is Avira Free Edition, and Malwarebytes anti-malware.
I would urge you to try malwarebytes if you havn't already. I can't tell you how many computers I have fixed with this software. It's free too! Nothing to lose.
http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Ant鈥?/a>|||not posible. They are woven into each other. The virus is in the windows files too so that wouldn't help.|||If your AV has identified the virus then it may be possible to download a spike from Norton or symantec that specifically targets the virus and can remove it.
Maybe take out your drive, connect it as a slave to another system and scan&clean it from that system, although this may also trash the OS but you may get away with a repair instead of a reinstall afterwards.
But reformat & re-install is the easiest|||No, sorry it's all or nothing
it's really easy to reinstall Windows though as long as you have your CD|||You can do a system restore... That will definately correct a lot of your problems.
If not, I suggest kaspersky.com. Yes malwarebytes is FREE and is decent, but kaspersky is a powerful full version anti virus, and has a FREE trial. So, when people are having serious issues, don't get something that is free 24/7, 365. Go out, download the best, use the 30 day free trial to keep clean, then buy or uninstall it.
This method is better than a OS install, and can sometimes save the day. I use it only as a last resort since you won't be able to get another 30 day trial unless you're good with registry.
Either way, you are back to a clean system for 30 days. In that time download the free stuff, and don't mess up again.
Using Windows Office in XP how do I make fonts as large as I wish. The format bar menu only goes up to 72 point. I'd like to make something 140 or larger.|||Go up to the menu bar and highlight the font size, i.e. "72", then just type over it, "140". Voila!
Or.... Hightlight the text...then hold the <Ctrl> key down and press the ] bracket, this will make the text larger, or [ will make it smaller.|||Sorry, but that is as far as the program will allow you to go.|||I suggest that you use Wordart. There you can choose a bigger size and you can drag your letter to an even bigger size afterwards.
Circuit city said that all the "free trials" on my new PC were going to slow it down by 33% and it would be best to erase everything and add only windows office. Of course there would be a $40 charge.|||Ok, so from what you have written, I take it you bought a "new" computer. For some reason you have returned it to where you bought it. If we are to assume you returned it for "service" because it appears "slow", or seems "slower" than when you bought it, then what you have written makes sense.
If this is not the case than what you have written makes no sense, maybe you should try again.
Ok, so if you are still with me then I have kinda guessed right.
Installing "free trials", and other assorted GARBAGE, on a computer will slow it down. To regain your original speed this stuff must be removed.
As to the $40 charge, well you added the crap, and someone must pay to remove it, and it's not covered under warranty.
What happens here:
When I build and sell a computer your "first one" (repair due to user error) is free. Next time it's $60.
But..........you could have used your restore disk(s) to erase and re-program your computer at home for free.|||They are right... the trials will slow down your PC and are usually worthless. I certainly wouldn't pay for the service though. Download PC Decrapifier and give it a run. It'll do the same thing for you and it's free and easy to use.
Download it here:
http://pcdecrapifier.com/download
List of some of the things it will help you remove:
http://www.pcdecrapifier.com/apps|||I don't know what software you are using, but they might just be telling the truth. A lot of software has bits that load up when Windows loads and which stays running in some way even if you are not using it directly (Desktop widgets and Anti-virus, for example). These programs take up system resources and slow your PC down.
Of course, the answer might be that it's easier and cheaper for them to erase everything on your PC and to restore it to its factory default settings, than for them to find the actual problem. $40 isn't all that much for a service like that. Even at what those guys get paid they would likely not be able to find and fix a problem without racking up more than $40 in wages alone.|||The free trials are crap and you should remove them.
However their 40 charge is crap. Tell them your not paying crap, you are purchasing your PC from them so they should do it for free...if they can't then go somewhere else, they are overpriced in regards to products. In my opinion and from my experience some of their people couldn't program or troubleshoot a speak and spell toy let alone a PC.|||I agree with them. they will, and most of that stuff is useless anyway. I wouldn't spend $40 though. Download a utility called ccleaner, http://www.ccleaner.com It was formerly called crap cleaner and was origionally designed to remove this kind of stuff off of new computers.
Once you are done with that here is a great article listing free software you should download to replace the "free trials" you deleted. In most cases, the free alternatives are better than the crap your computer manufacturer crammed on to your hard drive. There are even a couple of free alternatives to MS Office on this list.
http://www.download.com/8301-2007_4-9835鈥?/a>|||Yes that is true but let's be honest here.
Circuit City did NOT make that PC. They sold it. They have a service department that probably knows a lot more about the equipment than you.
That extra crapola on your new computer will certainly slow it down as most of it is running in the background when you boot up, instantly ready for you to use. Ready to use and taking up CPU Cycles rather than you click on an icon and have it running 3 seconds later.
About the $40.00 charge. Can YOU do it without messing up your computer? Do you trust some FREE ???? program to do it for you rather than muck up your system with more junk?
Why don't you see if they can clean your new computer of the junk and then make you a RESTORE CD of the system at the time they clean everything off. That way, if something goes screwy in the future, you just RESTORE to the day they gave it back to you.
I know Best Buy has a service like that.
The main word is ' Service '. If you can't do it, you pay the ones that can. That's paying for a SERVICE.
Sarge|||You can remove a lot of the pre-installed trial programs yourself from the add and remove Icon in the control panel. Why pay some one else to do what you can do?
As far as Microsoft Office goes, if you don't have the program, simple download Open Office. (it's open source software) It is free and will do exactly the same things that MS Office does.
what do i click on select. i think i have the newest version of Windows Office. thank you!|||When you go to print, in the pulldown menu at the lower right it says Print What. Select Notes Pages. It will print a portrait layout with the slide at the top and the notes below.
EDIT: I got into a little issue with someone copying this answer (since deleted). Don't let the two thumbs down worry you, this will work.|||is there a way to make the notes portion small and increase the size of the slide? Report Abuse
